Annual School and Conference of the International Transportation Economics Association (ITEA)

ITEA 2023 is hosted by the Department of Economics of the University of Cantabria, 12 – 16 June 2023

ITEA is pleased to announce that the ITEA Annual Conference and ITEA Annual School on Transportation Economics for 2023 will be hosted by the Department of Economics of the University of Cantabria in Santander, Spain. The ITEA Annual School will be held on June 12-14, 2023. The ITEA Annual Conference will be held on June 14-16, 2023.

ITEA’s Scientific and Local Organizing Committees are thrilled to confirm that Dr. Jonas Eliasson of the Swedish Transport Administration will be the keynote speaker. Dr. Eliasson combines his important policy role with considerable academic and research experience, having been professor of transport systems analysis at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) from 2007 to 2017 while currently serving as a visiting professor of transport systems at Linköping University. Therefore, his policy-oriented address will be given from the perspective of a researcher, offering a new type of ITEA keynote talk.

On behalf of the Department of Economics, Professor Ramón Núñez (Chair of the Local Organizing Committee) and all the members of his committee are committed to organizing a vibrant and successful conference. The conference city, Santander, lies in a beautiful location on the northern coast of Spain, providing an inviting setting for the conference and school. The aim of the ITEA Annual School is to provide young researchers with a high-quality introduction to academic research on transportation economics, including many recent advances in the field. The School’s program consists of a series of lectures and tutorials conducted by some of the most prominent researchers in transportation economics. In addition, the students are given the possibility to present their own work at the Conference.

The aim of the ITEA Annual Conference is to promote scientific excellence in the field of transportation economics and to provide a forum for scientific exchange. Research presented at the conference covers both theory and empirical work, including all transport modes and a wide range of research methodologies.
